As Principal of St Ursula’s College Yeppoon, I welcome you to our website. Each page provides a snapshot of how we support our students to Live, Love, Learn and Lead through the values of the Presentation Sisters.

St Ursula’s College, Yeppoon, was founded in 1918 by the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (PBVM) and is a Ministry of Mercy Partners. As an independent Catholic Day and Boarding Secondary College, St Ursula’s offers an education for young women of the future based on gospel values and Nano Nagle’s vision, with a particular commitment to:

The promotion of, and education for, justice;
The development of leadership;
Encouraging students to strive towards reaching their potential; and
Preparing students to participate fully and responsibly in society.

This vision sees an emphasis on an educational environment where the gospel values are experienced both in daily living and through authentic and engaging learning experiences, developing critical and future-focussed learners.

At St Ursula’s College, we offer girls in Years 7-12 a holistic, comprehensive, faith-filled Secondary education encompassing academic and vocational pathways to tertiary study and /or employment. We celebrate every student and their unique abilities; this dynamic culture produces strong, confident young women, capable of forging a positive path for themselves by embracing the College motto of “Perfice Gressus Meos” (Perfect My Steps).

Our Boarding House, Yumba-Gy-You, is located on campus, nestled in the foothills of the Yeppoon Central Business District, within walking distance to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Yeppoon has a population of 18,100 residents and is a safe and friendly close-knit community on the Capricorn Coast in tropical Queensland.

As you navigate this website and our resources, we trust that you will be equipped to make the best choice for your daughter’s future; however, if we can be of further assistance do not hesitate to contact the College.

Mrs Deborah Ryan

Here at St Ursula’s College, we offer high tier Academic and Co-curricular programs, available to both Boarding and Day Students. In partnership with parents and carers, and with the support of a skilled team of Pastoral Care professionals, the staff at St Ursula’s lead by example and nurture students through the journey to young adulthood.

Our College Motto, ‘Perfect My Steps’, recognises that learning is a journey that involves improvement and growth. Stimulating learning environments include plenty of real-world experiences to encourage each student to find their passion. #empowerU

As a member of the Alliance of Girls’ Schools Australasia, we offer an educational experience tailor-made for girls.

A Different Way of Thinking

Life-changing experiences begin here at St Ursula’s. We recognise the importance of allowing our students to develop their skills and education and pave their own future by connecting with each other and engaging in the enriching experiences provided by our staff.

Lasting Friendships

We foster personal growth and encourage our students to think, learn and explore together while part of the St Ursula’s community. Through education, community and friendship, our girls exit St Ursula’s College as world ready women.

Yeppoon is the gateway to the Capricorn Coast and the wonders of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Famous for its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, Yeppoon has village-style appeal with well-developed Hospitality, Retail and Arts industries.

Runners up in your division!! You must all be so proud of your incredible effort. Loved the livestream. 😍

To best prepare our Year 11s for their role as our Seniors of 2023, they undertook Leadership training at the end of Term 2.

The cohort worked together to develop a collective mindset as the College leaders, and spent time developing their understanding of leadership and exploring the qualities of leaders.

In an effort to appreciate the servant leadership style and to participate in service activities, the girls worked together and prepared kits for Birthing Kits Foundation Australia.
