Jordon Irwin, St Ursula’s Alumni

From making ice-cream in the Chemistry Lab, to making waves in the Science industry!

College Graduate in 2011, Jordon Irwin is a testament to the outstanding displays of talent and academia we encourage here at St Ursula’s. After finishing Secondary School as a Day student, Jordon went on to study at CQUniversity for a further seven years, and achieved an impressive list of qualifications.

Jordon completed a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Analytical and Molecular Science) with Honours, and submitted her PhD thesis in June 2019.

Passionate about trying to help people live happier and healthier lives, Jordon’s research looks at how best to manage and prevent musculoskeletal problems caused by cholesterol-lowering medications.

Jordon said that her time at St Ursula’s College opened her eyes to new opportunities, and she was encouraged to strive for her best, always.

“The values that I gained at St Ursula’s provided me with the skills I needed to pursue a career in Academia.”

Jordon’s favourite memory from her St Ursula’s days involved making ice-cream in Chemistry class because, as Jordon explained, “It is very rare that you’d be allowed to eat something you made in a science lab!”

Still living locally in Emu Park, Jordon enjoys the simplicity of walking, reading, and listening to live music.

We are so proud of Jordon’s achievements, and can’t wait to see what is next on the agenda for this world ready woman!
